Young Volunteer Awards

The club marked the contribution of our young volunteers by awarding Scottish Athletic and Saltire Awards.

Scottish Athletics have developed an awards programme that clubs can implement, introducing Gold, Silver and Bronze Award certificates. Kilmarnock Harriers are delighted to take part in this scheme and have around 35 Young Volunteers assisting with Registration, Competitions, Race Running and Coaching, some of whom have completed the Scottish Athletics Leading Athletics Course and are hoping to progress to Level 1 Assistant Coach.

Lindsay McMahon, Scottish Athletics West Regional Development Manager presented these awards.

Our Young Volunteers are also involved in the Scottish Government / Young Scot backed Saltire Awards Scheme.  We have encouraged our Young Volunteers to sign up for the Ascent Scheme which requires 500 hours of volunteering to achieve success.

Our Young Volunteer Co-Ordinator, Tommy Graham, has recently been approved as a Saltire Ambassador and in recognition of this Club President, James Young, presented him with his Lapel Pin to mark the occasion.  Tommy made the following awards on behalf of the Saltire Scheme.
