YDL Still going strong

On the clubs first year going it alone in the Youth Development League we are still going strong.  After the first league match of 3 the club took all 8 points to sit top of the League.  On Sunday the 22nd May a team of 52 young athletes headed to Grangemouth, for match 2 finishing 3rd with 6 points on the day.  Again the athletes showed great courage and commitment to themselves, their team mates and the club, with many standing in for team mates in events they would not usually compete in. There were more PB’s set and many a great performance from the young athletes of Kilmarnock Harriers.  Once again showing the new depth and strength we have within our club to contend with any club in Scotland.

The Division 2 table now sits with Kilmarnock Harriers, Victoria Park City of Glasgow and Team South Lanarkshire all on 14 points, with the winners of match 3 being promoted to Division 1.

The final match is at home in Kilmarnock on the 19th June, we would ask for everyone to make themselves available for team selection and everyone to get behind the team and support them on the day.

The club would like to say thank you for the continual support from the Parents who travel and help officiate for the club on the day.  Again the 35 points we get for your support also helps the club stay in contention.

Dare Kilmarnock Harriers on their first year in Division 2, do the unthinkable and be promoted!!

Proud to be Killie.
