Winter Championships Update

Please find the links to the updated championship tables below, following the National Cross Country in Falkirk. Although the Harriers were down in numbers, due to a host of injuries plaguing the senior ranks at the moment, the athletes who were able to compete equipped themselves well on what turned out to be a perfect day for cross country running.

Craig Ferguson took the full 10 points in the men’s championships to strengthen his position at the top of the leaderboard, clocking a personal best for this particular course in the process. Connell Drummond ran solidly to pick up 9 points and similarly Murray McDonald who gained 8 points. Both men move up places in the table. Whilst 1st place looks to be all but sewn up for Craig, with Richard Mair holding a commanding gap in 2nd, a number of men will fancy their chances of completing the podium by the end of the championships, with only 10 points separating 3rd to 11th positions.  Jamie Nix also deserves a mention for a strong run in the Under 20 men’s race.

Kirsty Alexander produced the performance of the day for the women, and takes another 10 points to move into an unassailable lead at the top of the championships with only 2 races remaining. Amanda Bryden and Paula Wilson were both in action in Falkirk, with Paula taking 9 points and Amanda 8. The extra point may prove crucial for Paula as she moves marginally ahead of Amanda in the battle for 2nd place, however it is still all to run for. Karen Robertson completed the female quartet.

The National 4 & 6 stage relay at Livingston on 25th March 2018. As this is a team event please register your interest with the club captains by Thursday 8th March 2018, to allow us to get the entries in on time.
