Winter Championships Update

Please find the updated Winter Championships tables attached at the bottom of this page, following the races over the festive period. Namely Cyclists v Harriers, the Turkey Trot and the Beith Harriers New Year Road race. Please note, that as of yet I have been unable to find the full results for Beith, so the club championship points have been awarded largely based on Kenny Phillip’s finishing photos and unofficial reports of the race. Any errors or omissions will be amended during the next update.

Kirsty Alexander has moved into what appears to be an almost unassailable lead, having collected the maximum possible 30 points over these 3 races, with some impressive performance in the respective women’s races. Amanda Bryden is in 2nd with Paula Wilson in 3rd and with only 4 points separating the 2, there could be an intriguing battle over the final 2 championship races.

In the men’s championships, David McLure has profited most over this period, collecting maximum points at both the Turkey Trot and Beith to propel himself into contention for a podium spot. A string of excellent runs from Craig Ferguson, however, sees him overtake Richard Mair at the top. Richard remains 2nd, with Cameron Wilson in 3rd.

The penultimate race in the championships will be the National Cross Country at Callander Park in Falkirk on 24th February. We will announce details of how to enter this soon.

Many Thanks
