West District Championships 2015

Cameron Mackie Wests 2015

Well folks as you will have gathered by now it was the West District Track and Field Championships at the Ayrshire Athletic Arena this weekend. It was also the East and North Districts as well but this is the biggest of the three. There have already been a couple of posts regarding it and I would congratulate all who took part. There were some great performances across the board from the athletes of Kilmarnock Harriers, PB’s and medals to boot.  I will list the medal winners and that is not to belittle the performances of athlete’s who did not medal, as there are only three medals to be won in any event and there were fantastic performances from the athletes that did not medal. For every athlete that gets a medal there are hundreds who have lined up to give it their best. There were great results from athletes competing in middle distance, field and sprints. Who would have thought we could have said that a few years ago. I would also like to highlight the volunteers, officials and AAA Centre staff without whom the athletes would not be afforded the opportunity to compete in this fantastic event.

Here are some of the outstanding results achieved by athletes from the club:

Sarah Barbour (U13) Competed in U15 Pole Vault gaining Gold

Evie Bartl U17 Women Pole Vault Gold and Javelin Bronze
