Upcoming Road Races

The last few Senior Winter Championship races will take place over the next few weeks. First up will be, what should be, the highlight of the winter season, the National Cross Country Championships this Saturday, at Callendar Park in Falkirk, good luck to all those entered.

After this, the 2nd last race to gain points will be Clydesdale Harriers popular Clydebank 5k, which takes place at 2pm on Saturday 19th March. This can be entered on the day & costs £6 saf (£8 non saf).

The final race of the Champs is the National 4/6Stage Road Relays at Livingston, on Sunday 3rd April. This is a fantastic race to be part of and like all relays, a great club day out. There are 2 distances of alternate short laps (3.1 miles) & long laps (5.8 miles), 4 women & 6 men in each team. Could anyone who would like to take part, please pass their names to the Club Captains as soon as possible (& before 17th March), to organise teams & post entries away. It costs £4.50 per athlete & you must be saf registered & were a club vest.

The Summer Championship list will be announced soon after the AGM (on 8th April), after the Winter Champs have been concluded. However there have been some races opening for entry, and can be entered via Entry Central, that will be included in these Championships, these include –

Ayr’s Tam O’Shanter 10k on Wed 25th May (this is pre-entry ONLY!)

Irvine 5 miler on Mon 17th July

Round Cumbrae 10 Miles Sun 11th Sept

Hopefully we’ll see a busy end to the Winter season, all cracking races to be part of!
