Summer Championship Points 2022 – Congratulations to all of our winners!

It has been a long summer season with some fabulous racing and great club days out, and FINALLY
we have the scores all totalled up and can announce our overall Summer Points winners. For our
ladies, Kirsty Mackay laid down the gauntlet very early on in the season and had a HUGE summer.
As well as supporting all of the club events she also completed London marathon and is our very
deserving ladies winner – well done Kirsty! In second place was Louise Baillie who also topped her
year off with a fantastic London marathon completion, and in third place was U20 athlete Sasha
I’Anson who has had a great summer stepping up to the longer events – the future is bright for our
senior teams!

Kirsty Mackay 160 points
Louise Baillie 144 points
Sasha I’Anson 126 points

For the men there has been all to play for, with the lead changing hands several times as the
summer progressed. However, in the end up it was David Sherrington who took the top spot after a
really solid season competing across the distances up to HM. Hot on his heels was Craig Ferguson
who was only 1 point behind after all events were taken into account. Rounding off the top three
was Paul Black who also had a really good summer with some excellent times posted. Huge
congratulations to our top 3 men!

Due to the huge amount of support for this league over the summer, the club have decided to offer
prizes for the best U20/V40/V50/V60 athletes (providing at least 5 races have been completed)
rather than the traditional single veteran prize. We will continue this into future leagues as long as
numbers support this! We are therefore pleased to be able to announce the following extra awards:
