Success at National relay events and Scottish Masters

 

Kilmarnock Harriers athletes had a very successful National 4x 100 relay championships, having two female teams that made it onto the podium. Our U18 girls (Lauren Duncan, Caitlin White, Anna Balls and

Lorne Kerr) had another fine competition and were able to add the outdoor bronze to their indoor bronze they won in February in a fine time of 50.73 beating bigger teams like Whitemoss, Giffnock North and Victoria Park.

Later on it was the U14 A girls team (Erin Connelly, Lauren Greig, Evie Bartl and Sophie Rowan), who achieved an excellent third place in a fine time of 55.01 holding off a fast approaching Livingstone team, who were beaten by a narrow margin of 5 hundreds of a second. The U14 B team (Tygan Smyth, Katie Greensmith, Eilidh Gardiner and Morgan McKenna)  came 5th in their heat 58.74.DSC00093

The U18 men qualified for the final where they came 6th in a time of 46.16. Our U16 3x 800m girls team (Lauren park, Olivia Cochrane and Shona McBean) came 5th in their heat in a time of 8.34.
We had one U16 A team (Kirsty Pattison, Laura Fulton, Madeline Lawton, Hannah Bartl), which achieved a 3rd place (54.29) in their heat narrowly missing out for the final.

Coach Harald Bartl, M50,competed in his fifth Scottish Masters Championships and was pleased with his high jump competition, jumping his way to a new seasonal best of 1.53 with out failures and adding the outdoor gold to his indoor title. Harald also competed in the pole vault coming second with a new PB of 2.20m and won the javelin with a trow of 27.86m.
