Silver lining for Kara at wet and windy “Night of the 10ks”

Kara Tait’s training and dedication paid off on Friday night when she took the silver medal at the Scottish National 10,000m Track Championships. With a strong winter season and plenty of Dean sessions under her belt, Kara toed the line completely unfazed by the idea of circling the track 25 times. Thanks to good pacemaking, Kara came away with a PB of 36.05  with Falkirk athlete Fiona Matheson only getting away from Kara in the last kilometer. Fiona finished 5 seconds ahead in 36 minutes dead. Kara is now aiming to maintain her fitness over 10k on the road this summer. She is signed up for the Troon 10k and is hoping for good conditions to allow her to dip under 36 minutes. Moreover, if not stuffed with too many croissants (as her sister Colleen will be), she is planning on racing the Amienoise 10k in northern France at the end of May.
