Senior Winter Championships Update

Please find the links to the updated Winter Championships table below, following the Ayrshire Cross Country Championships. Persistent rainfall in the days leading up to the race led to challenging conditions for the athletes over the 9km course in Rozelle, Ayr. However, Kilmarnock Harriers proved up to the challenge, with many notable performances throughout the course of the day.

Richard Mair maintained his lead at the top of the men’s championship, collecting maximum points with a brilliant overall victory. Craig Ferguson also had an excellent run to take individual bronze, marginally ahead of Gordon Reid.  The 9 points gained by Craig means he moves into 2nd place in the championship, ahead of Cameron Wilson.

Kirsty Alexander remains at the top of the Women’s Championship, having ran strongly to take 10 points and overall silver. Kirsty is ahead of Amanda Bryden and Paula Wilson who picked up 8 and 9 points respectively to stay in touch at the top.

The next race in the championships is the West Districts cross country championships at Irvine Moor on 9th December. Entries are now closed for this race, but for those athletes who have entered, we look forward to seeing you there.
