With the final race of the winter 24/25 season taking place on Saturday (full report to follow
of a brilliant team day out at the Allan Scally relays!) we are now in a position to announce
our winners of the winter points league. Unfortunately one of the West League XC events
was cancelled early on and a second one fell victim to the weather, but this did not stop the
league being competitive as ever and we have a group of very worthy winners who will
hopefully be able to join us on Friday the 14 th of March at the Fenwick Hotel for the awards
night.
Without further ado, your winter 24/25 winners are as follows:
Men’s Winter Champion 24/25 – Tom Flood with 77 points
A great first full winter season for Tom sees him take the title this year – congratulations!
Our runner up is Nick Carter with 57 points – Nick is a real ambassador for the club at all of
the XC events and it’s great to see his hard work rewarded. Nick also claims the V40 prize –
well done Nick! Rounding up our top 3 is Ross McNaught with 52 points. Great running
from all!
U20 Men’s Winter Champion 24/25 – Jonathon Downey with 91 points
Jonathon has been a part of the squad for most of the events this season and has had some
superb performances – a very well deserved winner! Our runner up is Matthew Monachello
with 42 points, and in 3 rd spot is Connor Scobie with 23 points – well done all.
Women’s Winter Champion 24/25 – Kat Kelly with 100 points
Another member running her first full winter season in the blue and white, Kat has had an
incredible season picking up medals along the way. Kat also takes the V40 prize for the
season – well done! Our runner up was oh so close in the points – Eilidh Ballantyne with 92
points on the board. Eilidh has combined XC with HM training which makes this point total
even more impressive – well done Eilidh! Rounding up the top 3 is another athlete splitting
time between events – Laura Haggarty managed to take enough time out of an outstanding
indoor campaign to take 3 rd spot with 41 points. Great effort from all of the ladies!
U20 Women’s Winter Champion 24/25 – Izzy Caufield with 88 points
Another athlete who has had a fantastic winter season and truly represented the club – Izzy
was also our overall ladies summer league winner showing she can mix it up with the senior
athletes as well – great effort Izzy! Our runner up in her first U20 season is Mhairi
Ballantyne with 46 points and Jennie Munro takes 3 rd with 14 points.
There were no further age group prizes as nobody in V50 or above completed the requisite 5
events.
