A couple of weeks have passed since our last report, but it has been business as usual for

are any errors or omissions please reach out and let us know!

We start this report on home turf at the AAA for the second Ayrshire Open Graded meeting
of the summer season on Wednesday the 12 th of June. Though a bright and mild night,
there was a definite cold wind in true AAA style, but this did not stop our U20 and senior

race 1 (2:18.73) and Laura Haggarty was 8 th in 2:22.47. In race 2 Jennifer Beattie was 6 th in
2:32.39, and in race 3 U20 athlete Jennie Munro was 5 th in 2:38.73. In the 200m, Adam
Todd was 5 th in race 1 (25.36), Hannah Burn was 6 th in race 2 (28.11) and Douglas Dickson

On Saturday the 15 th of June Jamie Phillips made the trip to Belfast for the BMC meet a
worthwhile one, winning the men’s A 800m in a scorching PB of 1:48.40 – great running

finished in 268 th place (35:15).

Saturday the 22 nd of June saw Jamie Phillips back in BMC action, this time at Loughborough
for the BMC Grand Prix – World Athletics Challenger meet. Jamie finished 8 th in the A race

Scottish Athletics Pole Vault Open at Greenock, clearing 3.72m.

On Sunday the 23 rd , all roads let to Ayr for our track athletes for the 4J Studios Scottish
Athletics Track Relay championships. Our senior ladies were out on the track first for the
3x800m. Sadly our A team had a technical DQ after some great running from Laura
Haggarty, Jennie Munro and Hannah Burn, and our B team of Eilidh Ballantyne, Christine
Clermont and Izzy Caufield were 6 th in a total time of 8:30.61. The men’s 3×800 was run as
timed finals, with our A team of Matthew Monachello, Jordan Phillips and Jamie Phillips
finishing 2 nd in heat 1 (6:01.63) and the B team of Jonathon Downey, Alexander Curran and
Jamie Nix finishing 5 th in heat 2 (6:37.02). Sadly the A team had to settle for 4 th overall and
the B team were 10 th – great running from all in record breaking company! In the 4×400 our
ladies team were 6 th overall (4:19.65) with Laura Haggarty, Hannah Burn, Eilidh Ballantyne
and Jennie Munro all running for the second time of the day. The senior men’s team made
sure our last team effort was a medal winning one, with Ally Mitchell, Jordan Phillips,
Matthew Monachello and Jamie Phillips producing the goods in 3:24.90 to take the bronze
medal – great running from a very young senior team! Huge congratulations to all in the club
who took part and made it such a fun and successful day.

Scott Masterton took the win in 44:32 and Andy Taylor was 77 th in 1:11:15 – well done both.

OG at Grangemouth to finish 2 nd in his race – well done Adam!

There are no updates to the leagues this week – our next counting race is the Ayrshire 10
mile champs at the Kenny Phillips Memorial on Cumbrae. Remember that any marathon or
half marathon within the qualifying period will also count for points – we will ask for
submissions once other league races are concluded. Our track athletes will be headed to
Grangemouth this weekend for the 3 rd SNAL meeting where as a team we are sitting in 4 th
overall behind the real big hitters – good luck to them and ALL Harriers competing this
weekend!
