Senior Chrismas Handicap Results

We had a record 63 entrants for the senior handicap race and (I think) a good time was had by all. As has been the recent pattern, the winner was a ‘dark horse’ whose coach (yes Kate Todd, that’s you) massively underestimated their athletes abilities. However that’s no fault of our winner Valerie Anne, who romped home 5 minutes faster than predicted and nearly half a minute ahead of second placed Yvonne Richmond. Michael Dolland was 3rd. Fastest man on the night was Graham Cameron in an impressive net time of 15:40 – more than half a minute faster than last year. Fastest woman was Kara Tait also faster than last year. These results confirming both athletes recent selection to represent West District.

Of the 30 runners who also ran this course last year, 22 have improved with a further 3 within a second or two of last years results, so the standard of the club is definitely improving.
