On Sunday 2nd February a number of Harriers represented the club at the National Indoor Masters at the Emirates and returned home with an impressive haul of medals across various disciplines.
In the Woman’s 800m, Laura Haggarty ran a PB to take v40 Gold with Jennifer Beattie also running a PB to claim Bronze. Laura then dusted herself down and stepped up the distance to win v40 Gold in the 1500m race.
In the Men’s 800m our recent recruit wearing Harriers colours for the first time, Robert McHarg, won v60 Gold in 2.11.46. This is a new British and European age group record and was an agonising .26 secs off the World Record! Like Laura before Robert then stepped up to the 1500m to claim his second Gold of the day. Not a bad debut.
There were plenty more medals claimed on the day, details as follows:
Alex McIntosh: v65 Gold Shot Put
Alistair Craig: v40 Gold Triple Jump, v40 Silver Long Jump, v40 Bronze Shot Put
Douglas Dickson: v55 Bronze 60m
Robert Lindsay: v50 Gold Shot Put, v50 Silver 400m
Well done everyone.
