Rowallan Rosebowl 2016 Results

Congratulations to all 81 runners who competed in this years Rowallan Rosebowl on a wet and blustery night at the AAA. It was great to see the junior section so well represented and so many new faces in the race, I am sure they all benefited from (and enjoyed!) the experience. There were some fine individual performances on the night – especially from Richard Mair in a course record 13:51 and first woman Kirsteen Havlin in 19:13. However it is a team event which requires strength in depth to deliver the results and the team who had this on the night was Team 5 made up of

James Wales, Eddie Toner, Calum Haswell, Kirsteen Havlin, Jonny Burn,

and the junior pairing of Erin Connelly and Sophie Brown.

It is they who will now have their names engraved on this historic trophy which we have been competing for since 1933. Well done to them. To every one else – there’s always next year!

Finally thanks to the marshals and timekeepers who helped out tonight.

Finally humble apologies to Aidyn McMahon and Sam Lindsay. In the heat of the moment your entry was inadvertently lost from the entry file. Being unaware of this we recruited David Jamieson at the last minute to make up 10 teams of 6+ doubles. As he finished in front of you, your inclusion would have made no difference to the result but sorry all the same!
