Rowallan Rosebowl 2014

Congratulations to all 54 runners who competed in this years Rowallan Rosebowl on a scorching night at the AAA. It was great to see the junior section so well represented and so many new faces in the race, I am sure they all benefited from (and enjoyed!) the experience. There were some fine individual performances on the night – especially from James Wales in 16:38 and Kara Tait in 17:42. However it is a team event which requires strength in depth to deliver the results and the team who had this on the night was Team 2 made up of

Davie McLeod, Alex McGee, Allison Houston, and the junior pairing of Claire Orr and Tom Nicol.

It is they who will now have their names engraved on this historic trophy which we have been competing for since 1933. Well done to them. To every one else – there’s always next year!

Commiserations and best wishes go to Matt Ferguson who had a bad fall on the rough track section of the course. Had this not happenend it would have been very close between Team 9 and the winners! Get well soon Matt.

Finally thanks to the marshals and timekeepers who helped out tonight.
