Roon the Toon 2022 – We Need Your Help

This years Roon the Toon promises to be a bit special with a record 1750 entries, the fact that the event has  been awarded The Scottish 10K Championships, and the promise of some really competitive racing – including an appearance by Olympic and Commonwealth marathon hero Calum Hawkins. All we now need to do is deliver it!

To do that we will need a large number of volunteers, so if you are not running the event (and so far 74 club members are!) then we really need your support to help out on the day.

The junior section have stepped up to the plate by volunteering to manage the distribution of goodies at the finish and Billy Roberton will be recruiting for this task.

Additional volunteers (adult members, junior section parents or their friends / family) are required for a variety of roles. You can pick from –

Goody Bag packing – Friday night from 6.30 till 8.00

AAA Set Up – Saturday morning from 9 till 12.00 and Sunday morning 8.00 till 12.00

Car Park attendants – Sunday morning 8.30 till 10.00

Race Marshals – Sunday morning 9.45 till approx 11.30 (till the last runner has passed, so could be earlier) plus attendance at a 20 min Zoom call the week before for briefing. You can specify which part of the course suits best and we will try to accommodate

Trail bike – Sunday morning 9.00 till 12.00

If you can help,  then please let me know by email here – Ian Gebbie  or via the club Facebook page, or by contacting myself or Matt Dodds directly.

It is going to be a great event for the club and the town. Be part of it!
