Juniors update and YDL selection

Last month seen a massive 167 Personal Bests being set by the club.  This has made the selection of the YDL match 3 even harder than before.  With a must win on the 19th June to be promoted, a few loyal and committed team members have had to step aside due to last months PB’s.  The club would not be sitting top of the table with VP Glasgow and South Lanarkshire with out these team members, so a massive thank you to all of you.

The question now has to be, with the size of the club, is it time we thought about entering the Central & South Scotland Athletics League as well as the YDL to enable more athletes to compete in competition for the club, especially with a wider range of age groups from U11 right through to Vets ??

Last week also seen Lauren Greig compete in the Scottish Schools Relays in Glasgow for Glasgow School of Sport, where her team came second.  Also competing last weekend was Emily O’Shea in her first Scottish Schools Pentathlon.  Emily who is 12 was competing in the U14 age group and finished 12, Emily also got a new PB in her High Jump of 1.46m.  With plenty of local school events on over the past two weeks, it certainly has been a busy time for our young athletes, with lots of smiling faces coming to the club to let coaches know how they got on.
