We are delighted Jim will now continue to support the development of the club through the Jim Young Grant Fund. This fund will provide grants up to a maximum of £250 per application to help improve athlete performance and coach and volunteer skills. It will also provide help to any club member needing financial support to help them compete or support the club.
Who can apply?
Applicants must have been a club member for at least 1 year and be actively competing / coaching / volunteering or officiating. Applications need to have the support of a coach or a member of the committee / trustees.
What Can I apply for? (the following are for guidance. Any reasonable request will be given consideration)
Athletes
- Physiotherapy (full cost of first visit / assessment)
- Travel and Accommodation expenses for higher level competition out with Scotland
- Expenses incurred competing for Scotland / GB not covered by the national organization
- A grant in recognition of a particular achievement which enhances the clubs profile / reputation e.g. winning or being placed in a major competition
- To cover particular expenses e.g. the purchase of a specific piece of kit
Coaches / Volunteers
- Expenses incurred to attend a training course or workshop to enhance skills as a coach or official
- Purchase of equipment required for role
Financial Support
- Club Membership and event entry fees,
- equipment and travel expenses

- spend need not have already occurred and can be a part contribution towards cost in excess of any grant e.g. to compete in a major national / international competition
- Applications can be made on more than one occasion in a calendar year but this will be taken into consideration during the approval process
The Approval Process
Applications will be directed to the club treasurer in the first instance. He / She will then convene an approval group.
For junior athletes this will be – Club Treasurer, Pathways Development Officer and the Club Together Officer or equivalent (currently Alasdair Murray, Jim Goldie and Billy Roberton)
For senior athletes / volunteers this will be – Club Treasurer, Men’s Captain, and Women’s Captain (currently Alasdair Murray, Robert Lindsay and Jennifer Beattie)
Awards
applicants should receive notification as to the outcome of their bid within 4 weeks of applying
