Indoor Access – COVID 19 Update

Kilmarnock Harriers AC have been working in partnership with Easy Ayrshire Leisure to allow use of the indoor hall at the AAA. As part of this usage, there are a number of restrictions in place to ensure we meet the guidance provided by the Scottish Government, sportscotland and scottishathletics.

Coaches will now be able to book the indoor track for sessions, there will be no ad-hoc access to the building. EAL and the club will ensure that the equipment and activity areas are safe to use, to the best of our ability.

The following restrictions are in place:

  • Athletes should wear a face mask when entering and leaving the indoor hall.
  • Athletes must sanitise their hands after they have jumped in the pit or landed on the jumps bed. (Everytime they jump)
  • Ratios are lower for indoors, 1:8 for track and throws, 1:3 for jumps
  • All coaches and volunteers MUST wear a face mask at all times whilst indoors.

Full details can be found on the linked documents below.

The current restrictions are still in place for all athletes attending. The main issue we face is physical distancing before training starts. ALL athletes and coaches MUST adhere to the 2m physical distance between athletes/ coaches. This is a minimum of 2m, if athletes cannot adhere to this restriction, we risk the club being able to deliver safe athletics.
