On Saturday night 20 fellow Harriers travelled to the Hilton Hotel Glasgow to support Harriers stalwart Hugh Rankin who had been short listed for the Scottish Athletics volunteer of the year award. Tension mounted in the room as the nominations were read out, and as the winner was announced as Hugh Rankin the 2 tables of Harriers supporters and friends jumped as one to their feet to proclaim this much deserved accolade
Anyone who knows Hughie will know the tireless amount of work he does for the club , whether it be with the 6 o’clock running group , the laying out off the cross country trail, helping out at track meets, assisting at schools events and the tremendous work he does with our disability athletes.
