Girvan Half Marathon – Updated Points

Girvan half marathon took place on Sunday 14th July. Ten Kilmarnock Harriers (I’m guessing John missed the group pic) braved the hot weather conditions and testing route from Girvan to Dailly and back. Despite the conditions and challenging course there were some good performances on the day. David McLure was first in for the Killie men in a time of 01:18:14 and finishing 3rd overall and also takes the 15 points for the summer championship. Also a big well done to Scott Martin coming in first in the M50 category. Kilmarnock men also took the team prize for the event, consisting of David McLure, Dan Thompson and Connell Drummond, well done gents.

Jacqueline McConnell was first in of the three ladies that took part, finishing 79th with a time of 01:50:08 and also takes the 15 points for the summer championship.

Next races up for the Summer Championship are Kilmaurs 5k and Dundonald 10k. Both of these races are unfortunately on Wednesday 31st August, so for some a decision will have to be made as to what one to take part in. Entries and further info for Kimaurs 5k can be found here.
