Female Runner Safety Course

Are you a female runner and do not feel safe when you are out running?

If the answer is yes or would like to gain more confidence when out running alone, then Garscube Harriers have organised a personal safety course for female runners with the aim to give women more confidence to run alone and learn some tactics to overcome problems if you do experience any difficulties.

The course is this Saturday 2nd April, 2022

1pm – 5pm

at Westerton Bowling Club, Maxwell Avenue, Bearsden, G61 1NZ

The course will be run by The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety (https://scotcps.org.uk/), a charity which provides empowering personal safety and practical self-defence training across Scotland. It will include learning about the law regarding self-defence, voice control and de-escalation techniques and self-defence techniques that are designed to be effective for anyone.

The cost is £10 per person, with all proceeds going to The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety to fund their other work, such as projects with victims of domestic violence.
