Ayrshire XC Relay Champs & Yorkshire Marathon

The Ayrshire cross country relays took place on the sunny afternoon of Sunday 20th October. 2 x ladies teams and 4 x mens teams representing Kilmarnock Harriers enjoyed this hilly course at Irvine Beach Park. Fastest Man on the day for Killie and fastest overall was Martin Brown, completing the course in 13:24, with Richard  Mair second fastest overall in a time of 13:50. With these fast times it’s no wonder the mens A team took 1st place. The rest of the winning team consisted of Craig Ferguson and John Speirs. Well done to all men competing, great to see so many teams!!

The fastest Lady for Kilmarnock was Kirsty Alexander in a time of 17:50. Kirsty started the ladies A team, followed by Kirsty McNulty and Paula Wilson, finishing in 5th. Well done to the ladies B team also for stepping up to the challenge!!

Yorkshire Marathon

Whilst most were getting prepared to run the cross country at Irvine, 7 other Kilmarnock Harriers had already crossed the finish line of the Yorkshire marathon that same day.  Amazing times all round for everyone including some PB’s. Results of the day were:

David McLure 02:35:39

Dan Thompson 02:40:07

Scott Martin 02:50:??  ??? Scott still currently has no official finish time due to him not registering crossing the finish line 🙁

Steven Robson 03:06:32

Paul Markac 03:14:58

Jamie Rankin 03:17:22

Amanda Bryden 03:49:30

Well done everyone!!!

As it is now the end of October, all marathon times can be calculated into the summer championships, so if you haven’t already done so, please let Amanda or Robert know your time and we can get it included. Marathon time points could just make a difference to the end result.
