Ayrshire XC Championships 2019 / Richard Mair – British and Irish Masters

Rozelle Park in Ayr was the venue this year for the individual Ayrshire XC Championships. In ideal cross country conditions the clubs junior section performed well with many individual and team prizes won.

The senior ladies managed to field a counting team with Kirsty Alexander taking 4th place just outside the medals with Laura Haggarty, Kirsty McNulty and Paula Wilson making up a Killie quartet and 2nd team overall behind Ayr Seaforth.

After claiming the top two spots plus 1st place team prize last year,  the men struggled for entries this year with only 5 runners. However that didn’t stop them giving their all with Craig Ferguson leading the way for the Harriers in 4th pace followed by Jamie Nix, Scott Martin (first v50), Alsadair Murray and Stewart McAllister.

Jamie Nix currently leads the way for the men with Kirsty Alexander at the top of the women’s table. Championship-Tables-2019 (1) (M) Championship-Tables-2019 (1) (F)

On the same weekend, Richard Mair was competing for Scotland in the British and Irish Masters at Aintree racecourse. By finishing 5th overall, Richard helped Scotland take first place in the v35 category ahead of the other home nations. Well done Richard!
