Applied Sport Psychology Course

This opportunity is being subsidised by sportscotland and we are keen to ensure the right level of coach is targeted. Coaches should meet the following criteria:

 

• working with performance athletes in a club/squad setting
• have at least three years coaching experience
• currently be deployed a minimum of 10 hours per month
• hold a recognised SGB qualification

Start date: Wednesday 28th Jan 2015 (running every Wednesday evening for 12 weeks)

End date: Wednesday 15th April 2015

Time: 6.45pm – 9.15pm

Venue: sportscotland HQ, Doges, Templeton on the Green, Glasgow, G40 1DA.

Cost: £100

 

Accessing the course remotely

For the first time, coaches can access this course remotely. Each session will be recorded and available to watch online. To access the course remotely you will require internet access. All resources will be available electronically including . Coaches accessing remotely must be able to commit to completing weekly course work set by the tutor.

 

The course will be delivered by Dr Richard Cox and Tom Lucas. Richard is a former lecturer in Sports Psychology who is highly regarded in his field and continues to work with a number of elite level athletes. Tom has an extensive track record working with elite athletes. Coaches will benefit from Richard and Tom’s wealth of knowledge and experience. The course will focus on the practical application of sports psychology interventions and presents a fantastic development opportunity. Feedback from last year’s attendees was extremely positive.
