Charlie Kilshaw 5 Mile July 2018

The Charlie Kilshaw 5 mile charitable race was held at Milngavie Reservoir on Thursday 12/07/2018.  The race was organised by Garscube Harriers and we were invited to take part.  The weather conditions were suitable for running given it was not too hot nor too windy.  Eight Harriers showed up for the event.

For the women the top three to finish were Lynne McCaffrey (38:28), Rhona O’Neill (39:06) and Jacqui Sandler (44:32).  For the men the top three to finish were Connell Drummond (29:56), Mario Campagna (34:35) and Gordon Sandler (34:45).

Lynne and Connell also achieved the top placed finishes for runners who are not members of Garscube Harriers so a big congratulations to the both of them.  Personal bests were achieved by Gordon Sandler (34:45), Russell Duncan (36:00) and Lynne McCaffrey (38:28) and a course best was achieved by Ian McAughtrie (39:37) so very well done to each of them.

Over £600 was collected for the Beatson Cancer Charity and Alzheimer Scotland so a big thank you to everyone who donated.

The results of all Kilmarnock Harriers who finished the race are as follows:

Position Forename Surname Gender Time

The next race in the championship is the Kilmaurs 5km on Wednesday 25/07/2018.  This is a good race to test 5km times and is well attended going by past experience therefore I would encourage people to sign up by using this link.  The closing date for online entries is Monday 23/07/2018.

Following on this, the Dundonald 10k is on Wednesday 08/08/2018.  This is a challenging 10k that goes between Dundonald and Symington that again has a good attendance and some scenic views and I would also recommend people to sign up for it by using this link.  The closing date for online entries is Sunday 05/08/2018.
