Open Graded at Ravenscraig Indoor Centre

A small number of Kilmarnock Harriers travelled to Lanarkshire on Wednesday 30th January 2013 for an indoor competition. Ravenscraig Indoor Facilities offers the unique opportunity to compete in two sprint events 60m and 100m, which the juniors used to achieve a fast 100m time early in the season.
Cameron Wilson, U15, was pleased with his new PB for the 100m clocking 12.9 and 8.22 in the 60m; Cameron also had a decent shot put (4kg) with a distance of 8.88m. Robert Brady, U13, competed in the 100m running 14.8, jumped 3.48m in the long jump and cleared 1.15m in the high jump. Cara Baillie and Evie Bartl, both U15, kicked off their competition with a 60m hurdle race, which Evie narrowly won with a new PB of 11.00 and Cara finishing in second place in 11.18. Cara and Evie then had to juggle between two different events, the high jump, long jump and shot put. Cara cleared comfortably 1.40m and leaped 3.90m in the long jump, whereas Evie jumped 1.30m and threw the shot (3.25kg) 7.85m. Their coach Harald was also pleased with his 1.50m clearance in the high jump (second time in a row) and achieved a new PB in the shot put (6kg) throwing 8.36m. The next indoor meeting at Ravenscraig will be held on 27th February, please ask your coach if you are interested in competing in this event.
