JUNIOR HARRIERS SHINE AT WEST DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPS

On Sunday at new course in Ayr the above event was held, First up was the girls U13 race and following her good performance the week before at the UK cross in Liverpool. Jen Murray was hoping for a good result. She did not disappoint leading from the gun to record a tremendous victory. She was admirably backed up by Mhairi Chalmers ,Victoria McDowall, Eilidh Ballantyne Lottie Lambert, and Amy Anderson who all ran extremely well
Next was the U13 boys we where it was dejavu with Fraser Sproul ( our second claim athlete ) again leading from the start to record the harriers second gold off the day
Fraser was supported by his team mates Jonathan Downey, Sam Lindsay, Luke Baird, Ally Mitchell Aidyn McMahon who all ran fantastic races
In the U15G the girls packed well with many finishing in the top half of the field
Molly Murray, Isla Neilson, Ava Heron, Laura Jedrusiak, Leonnie Mccutcheon, Emily Nix, Kirstyn Park
In the U15 boys race Jonny Houson no doubt inspired by his team mates earlier front running tactics, took the race by the scruff of the neck, leading for more than half the race before finishing an excellent 5th in his FIRST year in this age group, also in the U15 was Ryan Littlejohn who had the misfortune to fall whilst in the top 15 .to his credit he picked himself up and passed a good number off runners by under-13s-west-districts-2016 the finish
Last up was the U17 boys where Aiden Hessett and Jamie Nix both aquitted themselves really well against more older and experienced athletes
