Roon the Toon 10K is here!

On Sunday 12th June, the club are hosting one of our most ambitious events. It is the Roon the Toon 10K which, funnily enough, is a race ‘roon the toon’. It is open to athletes from  15 and upwards and, in addition to individual and club prizes, features competitions for male and female teams for the 1st business, the 1st secondary school, 1st public service and 1st sports club team. So in addition to entering yourself – spread the word in your workshop/office/school/station/club and get a team in!

We officially launch the event on Thursday evening with our sponsors and a number of local personalities coming to the AAA to sign up. For this reason the normal registration and payment process is suspended on Thursday night.

Following on from the launch, we will be actively promoting the event to the local community and the West Of Scotland running fraternity. We have 1000 places and I am certain it will sell out, so as a club member take this opportunity to enter now before it is too late.

With an event of this scale we are also going to require loads of volunteer helpers, so do also tell your parents / partners /pals all about it, and have them ready to answer the call when we start recruiting in April.

We are hosting the event in conjunction with East Ayrshire Council and East Ayrshire Leisure, with the objective of promoting Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, our facilities and our club, and showing what a great place it is for athletics. Please do your bit.
