Movember Fun Run in aid of Prostate Cancer

A number of people, both Kilmarnock Harrier Members and non, braved the first real signs of Winter on Saturday morning to gamely compete in the Movember 3K Run in aid of Male Cancer. Such was the conditions, race organiser Ian Gebbie and his loyal band of merry helpers had to quickly change part of the route due to the hazardous conditions on part of the track but the day was definately worthwhile.

Charity Awareness was the aim of the day, however it was Local member Stewart Ferguson who was first past the post, quickly followed by Club stalwart Alasdair Murray. In the Women stakes, Paula Wilson put recent injury woes aside to take first place and Susan Ballantyne continued her impressive comeback by finishing second.

Special mentions too, go to Kate Todd and her Saturday Group who had a number of runners competing, while 6 o’clock group member Lesley Phillips ran her last race before re-locating to Nairn next week and everyone at the Harriers wish her all the best with their big move.

Many thanks to all who helped on the day.
