June Committee Meeting Report

Following the recent Club committee meeting we decided to publish a summary of some of the areas discussed.  Hopefully you will find this of interest as well as realise how much is going on and what we are trying to do.  If you’d like to find out more please speak to any of the Committee or the Club Together Officers.

Committee Meeting of Kilmarnock Harriers Monday 30th June 2014

 

Apologies were received, a new committee member welcomed, previous minutes accepted and business arising discussed including an inventory of equipment, equipment store re-organisation, letters of non-attendance, club development plan, Sainsbury’s Athletics Promotions.

Membership numbers were discussed and the possibility of a scanner system for registration.

The Treasurer reviewed the finances and stated we were in a stable position.

Coaching and volunteer availability for the forthcoming month were discussed. Coaches should advise Coach Co-Ordinators if they are going to be unavailable to allow alternatives to be identified.

Club Together Officers have just completed the Quarterly Report of club membership and achievements required by Scottish Athletics.

Ayrshire Harriers activities were reported on.  Kilmarnock Harriers had been thanked for their assistance at hosting recent events.  Kilmaurs would be the venue for the Ayrshire Harriers 5K championship event and Girvan would stage the Half Marathon Championship.

East Ayrshire Partnership Update was unavailable, however it was intimated that the Trust had applied for the residual equipment which would become available after the Commonwealth Games.

 

Upcoming Events

 

  • Dunlop PTA wishing for KH assistance with the Dunlop Fun Run (date still to be advised).
  • The Club Championship would take place on Saturday 30th August. Volunteers would be required.
  • The Annual Prizegiving event was discussed and the date was set as Mid-March with a served finger buffet and in the Foxbar Hotel.

Other

  • We are looking to have a notice board on Club nights displaying relevant club information
  • Work is underway to update the Club membership database and e mail distribution list following the recent membership renewal activity. New members still awaiting their t shirt will soon be contacted.
  • We will be developing a schedule of the main events the Club participates in for the months ahead giving dates and any pre-registration requirements. It will also identify who are the co-ordinators for each event – but we need people to step forward to help through the year.
  • Grant applications were discussed in relation to purchasing new equipment. Harald Bartl has been asked to lead in pulling together suggested new equipment.
  • An inventory of club equipment is being progressed.
  • The Club may become a member of a Queens Drive Sports Hub – details and implications not yet known.

The date of the next meeting was set as 4th August 2014 within the AAA at 19.00.
