Disability Section

Kilmarnock Harriers are starting a new Disability Section on a Wednesday night from 6pm – 7pm (7.30pm for Race Running).

This new section will initially be starting by incorporating athletes from A.C.E. Race Runners who are based at the AAA, prior to further development. The Race Runners train on a Wednesday from 6pm – 7.30pm.

In order to take this new section forward, we are currently looking for the following:

Disability Inclusion Coordinator
Coaches and helpers
Registration/General Information

Training will be given on Race Running, with continued support from Peter Drysdale from A.C.E. Race Runners and there will be a Disability Inclusion training workshop delivered in June (TBC).

If anyone is interested in becoming involved, but is perhaps a bit apprehensive, there will be the opportunity to visit other clubs who deliver athletics to athletes with a disability. The club would also look at bringing Ian Mirfin, National Disability Coach, to help mentor our coaches.
