Steve Cram visit – Thursday 7th March

On Thursday 7th March, former World Champion athlete, and current BBC athletics commentator, Steve Cram will be coming to Kilmarnock Harriers.  This is a great opportunity to meet a British sporting legend as well as showcase and promote the club.

Steve will be at the club from around 6.30 – 8.30pm and therefore we plan to alter the normal club event timings for the evening. From around 7.30 Steve will be giving a short talk followed by a question and answer session.  This will be held in the indoor track area (so wrap up!).  All are welcome, seniors, juniors, coaches, parents & volunteers. Please start thinking of your questions for Steve.

The senior road running sections (6 & 7 o’clock) will start early, at 6.25pm on this night, finishing in time for a club photo and the 7.30 presentation.

Juniors will also start at 6.30 (so registration at 6.15).  Steve will have a tour of AAA between 6.30 and 7.30 and get a chance to see and speak with some of the groups in training.

Around 7.10pm we plan to have our own World Record challenge, when several members of Kilmarnock Harriers take on Steve’s 1500m world record set in 1985!!
Money from registration on this night will be donated to charity, and hopefully others who don’t normally pay track fees will make a small donation which will be added.
This should be a great night for members of Kilmarnock Harriers, so lets have a big turnout and show the club off at its best.
