7 Men Run On Fathers Day

On Fathers Day (21 June 2015), The Mens 10K was hosted in Glasgow and took a route around the City. Starting at The Riverside Museum (Glasgow Museum of Transport) this went past the SECC Exhibition hall on to St. Vincent Street up on to the Kingston Bridge Crossing the M8 then headed towards Central station, going below it at Argyle Street. This then headed up Buchanan Street to George square before going South on Saltmarket towards Gorbals and then taking the scenic route to Glasgow Green.

7 men ran from Kilmarnock Harriers, all with different preparation and plans. Mark Lyden and Stewart McRoberts had ran at Garscube on the previous day but although Mark had focused of Mens 10K, taking it easier on day before, Stewart had went for it at Garscube Foodbank 5 mile road race. Connell Drummond had took an easier week before the race but Tony Rodden had took a forced rest due to ongoing niggle and had very little preparation for the race. Alex McGhee was feeling fit for the race, as was relatively new runner Alisdair Hood. Whereas Gerry Dodds was not training as well as expected.

The finishing times for the runners was Connell Drummond 36:05 (8th, 1st V40), Tony Rodden 38:37 (23rd), Gerry Dodds 44:04 (220th), Stewart McRoberts (439th) 47:51, Alex McGhee 47:25 (464th), Mark Lyden 48:34(549th) and Alisdair Hood 54:35 (961st) out of 1444 Finishers.
