Summer and Winter Points – Important Information

It’s hard to believe, but the summer league is now drawing to a close with the Valley Dash now

completed and we now start to look forward to the winter league. However, there is still some
admin required before we can finalise the standings for the summer leagues and announce our
winners. There is still the opportunity to obtain points for your best Parkrun, Half Marathon and
Marathon performances – in order to do this you will need to submit your best times between
2/4/22 and 2/10/22 (for Parkrun and HM), we have extended the marathon date from 2/4/22 to
1/11/22 but if you have a marathon falling shortly after that please let us know and we will aim to
accommodate. There will be a reminder posted on club socials at the start of October with
instructions on how to submit times. Once all times have been submitted the winners will be
announced.

Now for the part you have all been waiting for – the winter points league. Races have been agreed
as follows, with additional bonus points available for competing at club events and at National level
events – we want to see as many blue and white vests on the Scottish stage as possible this year.

The rules are as follows:

– Best 7 scores from the 11 events listed to count. Unlike previous years, all points obtained
at relays will count rather than only a set number.

– Points structure is outlined above – we are awarding extra points for national events as we
are looking for greater representation than in previous years. Please remember that these
events are for EVERYONE, don’t be put off by the word National – people of all ages and
abilities take part and they’re usually the most fun events to go to as the support is
phenomenal!

– A number of these events (West District level and above XC) require a valid SA number. If
you are not already a member you can join here – it is £22 for the year which entitles you to
enter SA events and offers a £2 discount on all SA licenced races.

– Club vests must be worn for XC events – if you need one then see Suzanne Sharp at the club.

We will be looking for names for the West District relays in the next week so if you wish to take part
please make sure you have an up to date SA number (needs to be up to date as of the date of the
race). If you have any questions about any of these events please speak to your coach or club
captains.
