1 x Weekend, 2 x 10k’s

This sunny and hot weekend seen not only one summer championship race, but two.

The first being Kirkmichael 10k on Saturday 26th May. With a 13.45 start time temperatures were high but the quartet of Kilmarnock Harriers that completed battled through. First finished for the Men was Stuart Nibloe taking the 15 points, followed by John Speirs. For the women it was a great run by Kirsty Alexander taking the 15 points and 3rd female overall, followed by Amanda Bryden.

On the Sunday 27th May, was the Babcock Shettleston 10k. Again only four Kilmarnock Harriers competed. First in for the men who all ran extremely well was Craig Ferguson, gaining the 15 points. Next in was Connell Drummond, followed by Steven Robson. Only one female competed on the day, so taking the 15 points was Amanda Bryden.

After the weekends races, Steven Robson leads the men’s championships, with Amanda Bryden leading the women’s.

Next race up is the Brian Goodwin Memorial 10k on Friday 15th June. Entries for this close on 11th June. This is a flat fast course and worth the burger and beer at the end. Lets see a good turnout for Kilmarnock Harriers.
